Interested in submitting an article? Graphite welcomes articles of all topics and backgrounds! Here’s how writing for us works:
- Make a copy of our article template.
- Write!
- Submit your draft via our article submission form. Make sure to include:
- Article title
- Author name
- Section
- Estimated read time
- Works Cited (if applicable)
- Acknowledgements (if applicable)
Once you’ve completed your first draft, our Associate Editors will begin making revisions to polish and enhance your vision for the article, focusing on structural flow, digestibility, and scientific fluency.
Once your second draft is complete, our Editor-at-Large will review it for the second round of revisions, focusing on cohesive theming, comprehensibility, grammar, and syntax. At this point, your article will also be sent to our Graphics Team to create accompanying illustrations, subject to your approval.
Finally, our Editor-in-Chief will make final edits to your third draft and approve it for publication on our website! Select articles will also be featured in our annual Spring print edition.
Whether you’re a first time writer or an experienced scientific communicator, our editing team is here to help you through every step of the editorial process. Feel free to reach out if you have questions about drafts of revisions!
